The Educational Service of the National Museum of Conímbriga aims to promote mediation and dissemination of the Archaeological Site and the Museum’s collections, valuing heritage knowledge and fostering connections with the community and schools.

It develops activities such as guided tours, playful and educational activities, and other initiatives programmed according to the specific characteristics of different audiences, with the aim of promoting knowledge of local heritage and raising awareness for the preservation and dissemination of archaeological assets.

Guided tours | Schools

Depending on the availability of human resources, the National Museum of Conímbriga provides a free guided tour service for school audiences. All visits must be scheduled in advance by contacting the Educational Service via email at se.mnconimbriga@conimbriga.pt, with a minimum notice of two weeks.

Admission for school groups is always free, upon presentation of a declaration issued by the educational institution.

Conimbriga Educa | Educational activities

The National Museum of Conímbriga offers a range of playful and educational activities that aim to spark younger audiences’ interest in the professions of archaeologist and conservator-restorer, as well as in everyday life during the Roman period. These include activities such as pottery, restoration, or mosaic construction workshops.

Conimbriga in Panels

A space dedicated to younger audiences, where Alia and Rufus will teach some curiosities about Conímbriga. This project is developed in collaboration with Jaqueline Dulce Moreira, a volunteer at the National Museum of Conímbriga, who is currently undertaking a PhD in Digital Media-Art at the National Museum of Conímbriga, in partnership with the University of Algarve and Universidade Aberta.
